Obituary from the Waconia Patriot newspaper dated Thursday, March 11, 1954:
Ferdinand A. Beise, 84, who died Saturday at Twin Birch home, Mound, was buried Tuesday from St. John's Lutheran Church, at Mound, with interment in Mound Union Cemetery.
The Reverend C. W. Fagerlin conducted the services at 2:30 p.m.
Mr. Beise was born in Hennepin County, two weeks after his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Beise, arrived from Germany to make their home in Minnesota. They settled on a farm on Six Miles Creek where they lived for a few years, then moved to what is now King's Point on Halstead's Bay. The old Beise farm included the entire Point.
The late Mr. Beise was a carpenter, and for years was known as one of the strongest men in St. Bonifacius. His wife, the former Louise Vollrath of St. Bonifacius, died 16 years ago.
The Beises lived in St. Bonifacius on the old Beise farm at King's Point, and later in Mound. In 1940 Mr. Beise bought a house on the Seton Channel where he made his home until last spring when he went to live at Twin Birch home.
He had been ill for several months before his death.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Goering, Minneapolis, and three grandchildren; a brother, Edward Beise, Mound, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Rose, Buffalo, and Mrs. Emma Lauman, Hopkins, and several nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers were Mr. Beise's four nephews, Roy Follrath and Harry Rose of Minneapolis, Herbert Beise of Hopkins, Eric Smith of Long Lake and Hugo Krueger of Seton. -- Minnetonka Pilot.
