Obituary from the St. Boni Star newspaper dated Friday, February 19, 1915:

Mrs. Fredericka Beise departed this life Saturday last at the home of her son, Edward E. Beise, Halstead Bay, having attained the ripe age of 75 years, 5 months and 2 days. Mother Beise was a native of Germany, having been born at Stolzenberg, Province of Posen, on September 11, 1839, and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Borchardt.

Deceased was united in marriage with Fred Beise in 1862, her husband passing away five years ago. Twelve children were born to them, of these three sons and four daughters died in childhood. The family came to these parts in 1869 and for many years resided on what is now known as the George Maas farm, two miles west of this village. During the forty-six years of her residence in this community she became widely known and won a host of friends. For forty-three years she was an active member of the Baptist Church, respected and loved by all.

Since the death of her husband, Mother Beise resided most of the time with her son, Edward E., and family, where in the beautiful Christian home, located at Halstead Bay on the shores of Lake Minnetonka, in the midst of her children, grandchildren and old time friends life to her was, indeed, very beautiful. In these happy surroundings she was suddenly stricken with pneumonia last week Thursday and two days later passed away.

Burial services were held at the Baptist Church and interment was in the cemetery near the church which she faithfully attended so many years, on Tuesday of this week.

Three sons, Wm. Beise of Delano, E. E. Beise and Fred Beise of Halstead Bay; three daughters, Mrs. Rose of Delano, Mrs. Lauman of Waconia and Mrs. George Wechsler of Madison, Minnesota. These with twenty-one grandchildren and a host of friends mourn the death of this beloved lady.

We express our deepest sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
