Mrs. Sarah "Cordella" Shelton Bryant, age 96, of Ararat, NC, passed away on Thursday morning December 29, 2011 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Stokes County on July 10, 1915 to the late James Terrell Shelton and the late Maggie McHone Shelton. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Garland Grant Bryant; two sons Ronnie Dale Bryant, and Harold Douglas Bryant; by three sisters and three brothers. Surviving are one son Gary Bryant of Ararat, NC; a daughter-in-law Linda Bryant of Dobson; five grandchildren Rhonda Evans of Ringgold, VA, Penny Wolfe of Lowgap, NC, Kim Hamilton of Fort Knox, Ky, Cheryl Bryant of Ararat, NC , and Adam Bryant of Dobson, NC; nine great-grandchildren; one sister Lillie Marie Burch of Mt. Airy, NC. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday December 31, 2011 at Moody-Davis Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in the Ararat Friends Cemetery. Rev. Tony McCann and Rev. Clayton Tilley will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Friday evening December 30, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The family would like to give special thanks to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for the love and care given to their mother and grandmother, and also to her daughter-in-law Linda Bryant. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home.
