She was born on March 4, 1919 in Stokes County, N.C. to the late James Tyril Shelton and Maggie McHone Shelton.
Mrs. Burch is survived by one son, Don Burch and wife, Kaye; one daughter, Carol Gammons and husband, Alton; five grandchildren, Keith Burch and wife, Dana, Christy McClelland and husband, Brad, Greg Gammons and wife, Michelle, Tim Gammons, Kenny Gammons and wife, Tammy; eight great-grandchildren, Haley Foster, Jeffrey Gammons, Ethan Gammons, Andrew Gammons, Kellie Burch, Josh Icenhower, Jessica Icenhower, Greg Thorn; one great-great-grandchild, Lillie Burch and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband; Roy Lester Burch, three brothers, Fletcher Shelton, Lenzie Shelton, Raymond Shelton; four sisters, Vesti Smith, Virginia Inman, Cordella Bryant, Lucille Heath and one grandchild, Jeffery Donald Burch.
Memorial services will be conducted on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Woodville Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Keith Love officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
The family extends a special thank you to Hospice and Palliative Care and the staff of Golden Living Nursing Home for their love and compassion in the care of Lillie during the past nine years.
