Alpha Ora Barker, 90, of Westville, Okla., died Sept. 11, 1994, in Westville Nursing Home. She was born July 14, 1904, in Pettigrew, Ark., the daughter of John and Abbie Burnett Smith. She was a member of the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church and had been a resident of the Westville area for the past 40 years. She was married Sept. 3, 1926, in Pettigrew, to Homer Barker, who preceded her in death June 17, 1985. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, seven sisters, and one brother.
Survivors include one daughter, Wilma Vaughn of Westville, Okla.; grandchildren, Raynell and Ron Sommers of Dallas, Tex., Phillip and Shelly Vaughn of Tulsa, Shauna Taliaferro of Westville; and great-grandchildren, Eric and Amanda Vaughn of Tulsa, one sister-in-law, Sally Thornton of Westville; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Monday, Sept. 12, at 2 p.m. at the Stilwell City Cemetery with Sister Flossie Fanning officiating. Burial was under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
