Mrs. Vida Edna Johnson, 84, of Pettigrew, died Aug. 4, 1983, at Huntsville Memorial Hospital. She was born June 30, 1899, at Boston, the daughter of John and Abagail Burnett Smith. She was a member of the New Home Church of Christ and was the widow of Roscoe C. Johnson, who died March 19, 1981. Survivors include one son, Donald Johnson of Boston, two daughters, Mrs. Avis Epperson of Augusta, Kan., and brother, Charles Smith of Witter, two sisters, Mrs. Ella Silvis of Huntsville and Mrs. Alfie Barker of Stillwell, Okla., 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren. Services were Saturday, Aug. 6, at the New Home Church of Christ with Otto Bennett officiating. Burial was in Cove Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. Pall bearers were James Allen Epperson, Rodney Epperson, Guendal Johnson, Ken Brinkham, James Schwin and Doug Boswell.
