Mrs. Prudence Belden Bannon, 84, of 76 Main St., Wethersfield, widow of Elmer Bannon, died Monday in New Milford while visiting friends. She was born May 15, 1879 in Wethersfield and lived there all her life. She leaves a son, Mahlon S. Bannon of Denver, Colo., a daughter, Mrs. Thomas B. Sharpe of Wethersfield: seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services will be held in the First Church of Christ, Congregational of Wethersfield, with the Rev. Lowell Q. Haynes officiating. Burial will be in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. Friends may call at the James T. Pratt Funeral Home, 71 Farmington Ave., today from 7 to 9 p.m. Published in the Hartford Courant, 4 Sept. 1963.

Prudence married James Elmer BANNON at Wethersfield, Hartford Co., Connecticut on 4 June 1907 [Conn. State VR, Marriages, filed 6 June 1907].

Prudence joined the Congregational Church at Wethersfield in 1892, J. Elmer joined the same church in 1921 [Present members, Manual of the Congregational Church, Wethersfield, Conn., Oct. 1893 and 1 Sept. 1925].

In 1900 she resided with her parents at Wethersfield where she was a schoolteacher [1900 U.S. Census].

Prudence G. and J. Elmer resided on Broad St., Wethersfield, Hartford Co., Connecticut, from 1911-1916 and at 76 Main Street, Wethersfield, from at least 1929 to 1963 [1910 U.S. Census, Connecticut, Hartford Co., Wethersfield, entry 461/533; Greater Hartford Dir., 1911-1964]. They were enumerated at Wethersfield in 1920 [1920 U.S. Census, Connecticut, Hartford Co., Wethersfield, ED 197, S. 4, entry 97/108].

Prudence was the informant on the death records for both of her parents, and resided at 76 Main St., Wethersfield, Connecticut, as of 1963 [Suburban Hartford Dir., 1964].
