Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Anthony "Tony" Graziano was baptized at the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis on January 28, 1923; his Godparents were August and Mary Cutrara. Tony took the name "Joseph" at his confirmation. He was a graduate of Miller Vocational High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota and he worked for a time as an upholsterer.

Tony enlisted in the U.S. Army and was inducted at Ft. Snelling in Minneapolis then stationed at Camp Roberts in California. His honorable discharge papers from the Army in 1943 describe Tony's character as "EXCELLENT" (in uppercase letters, exactly as shown here).

Tony married Anne Preksto on April 30, 1949, at the Church of the Ascension in Minneapolis, Minnesota; the officiating priest was Father Richard Bonin. Tony's youngest brother, Richard, was best man and Anne Skirka was maid of honor. One of the groom's other brothers, John Graziano, was a groomsmen and the bride's brother, John Preksto, was also in the wedding party. Tony and Anne's wedding reception was held at the Labor Lyceum, a fairly large banquet hall located on the corner of Logan Avenue No. and Olson Memorial Highway in Minneapolis. The couple was happily married for 48 years, until Anne passed away in 1997.

A wonderful chef and a good-natured, kind man, Tony was particularly known for his tasty soups and his traditional Italian anise cookies. He was a longtime employee and proud retiree of Amtrak, where he worked as a chef for many decades.

Tony was preceded in death by his beloved wife Anne, parents, Giovanni (John) and Maria Graziano, brothers Vincenzo and John, and sisters Vincenza and Jennie. Tony left to cherish his memory two sisters, three brothers, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. May you rest in heavenly peace, Tony.
