Sterling, Ill., May 23 - (Special) - Mrs. Josephine Hamblock formed the center of a family group comprising five generations yesterday at her home in this city where 40 relatives and friends called to help her celebrate her ninety-first birthday anniversary.
All of Mrs. Hamblock's children were present at the birthday gathering with the exception of her son Joseph (should be Jacob), who lives in Havre, Mont. The others are John of Rock Falls, Mrs. Theresa Beien, wife of Joseph Beien, Misses Caroline and Katie Hamblock at home, Carl of Wheaton, and Henry of this city.
She was born in Germany on May 20, 1837 and has made Sterling her home for over 60 years. Despite her years she enjoys excellent health and is able to keep track of the world's news and do considerable general reading without the aid of glasses. She has nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
