Hey people. Really enjoy my hobby of walking the cemeteries and adding memorials and pictures. I have found recently that when I add a picture of the marker of a recent deceased person, the memorial manager will make a memorial of the living spouse, sometimes same day as I add the marker. This is against F.A.G. rules, see below. Before Ancestry purchased F.A.G., a complaint would have brought the memorial down. Now, F.A.G. doesn't care, SO I will not be adding any more pictures of the markers until both people are deceased.

Biggest culprit that does it in my area is a rather new member, MISTY REYNOLDS. She is a hoarder. Lives in Indiana but is an obituary grabber here in Illinois. Karma will get you in the end.

Gina member #46846562 ALSO LISTS living people when the picture of the marker for the one spouse is posted. What happens when the spouse marries someone else and is buried with their second husband? These people make my hobby frustrating.

Misty "tries" not to list living members but has no problem making memorials of living people. What a joke. The most recent person she added that I have tried to get removed is Lyle Dirks. He is our local auctioneer. His dear wife passed away and the day I posted her marker on the memorial, Misty added Lyle. I sent her a message saying he is still alive, but she ignored it. I have sent FAG several messages. She has a note on her page regarding this but conveniently leaves some info out. She also has her messages closed. Hmmmm. I can honestly say the many years I have been on here, can't say I have received hate mail. You be the judge.

Here is the rule:
Is it acceptable to add a memorial for someone who is still living?
The site does not encourage adding memorials for individuals who are still living. However, when transcribing a cemetery, it is not always possible to determine if the person is living or not. You are welcome to create a 'pre-need' memorial for yourself provided that you have a pre-need headstone already in place in a cemetery. In the rare case where you need to create a pre-need memorial, please include a note at the top of the biography to let people know that person is still living. Memorials for living people will be removed when a family member or the individual contacts the manager and requests removal (the exception being for 'famous' individuals who already have a burial location in place).
