Denzil Beutler's Services Set
Funeral services for Denzil Beutler of Route 2, Canute, will be conduced from the Martin Funeral Chapel on Thursday, Aug. 2 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Ira Hatchett of Cleo Springs, and Rev. Don Graham of Elk City officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Beutler was born Jan. 12, 1899 at Okarche and died Monday night at Community Hospital at the age of 80. He came to Custer County with his parents when he was 4 years of age and lived there since that time. He had been engaged in ranching and farming all of his working life. He was a member of the Canute Methodist Church. Mr. Beutler was married to Hazel Schoepflin Dec. 23, 1923 at Wetherford,(sic) and she survived him.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Frances Johnson of Butler; 5 grandchildren: Randy Beutler of Canute, LeAnn of Smith of Okarche, Judy Walker, Jan Parker and Rick Johnson, all of Butler; 5 great-grandchildren: Lori and Dori Walker of Butler and Justin, Genae, and Jora Parker, all of Butler; 4 sisters, Oma Bishop and Bessie Lee, both of Denver, Colo.; Eva Hope of Chicago, Ill., and Birdie Hebron of Elk City; 2 brothers, Elra Beutler and Lynn Beutler, both of Elk City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and his son, H. L. (Buddy) Beutler, In January 1976.

Denzil was born January 12, 1899, near Okarche. He was married to Hazel Schoepflin in 1923 and they had two children: Frances and Henry Leon. Denzil lived and farmed all of his life five miles north of Canute. He died on July 30, 1979, and Hazel died in 1982.
