Funeral services will be Charles W. Barney Charles William Barney, 84, 1089 N. 980 W., Provo, died Tuesday at the Utah Valley Hospital after a sudden illness.

He was born Oct. 14, 1887, in Spanish Fork, a son of Alma and Anna Davis Barney. He married Josephine B. Carlson on Nov. 4, 1907, in Spanish Fork.

He attended Spanish Fork City schools. He worked on the construction of the Strawberry Reservoir. Mr. Barney lived in Lewiston and Rexburg, Ida., where he drove a wagon in the drayage business. He then lived in Duchesne where he was in the timber business. Mr. Barney moved to Provo to work in 1941 for the Provo Foundry until he retired in 1953. Mr. Barney later did carpenter work in Utah County. His hobbies were hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his widow, Provo; five sons and six daughters, Alma M. Barney, Carold W. Barney, Arnold C. Barney and Mrs. Oliver (Beatrice) Clark, all of Provo; Walter W. Barney, Castle Gate; Leonard L. Barney, Whitehall, Mont.; Mrs. Arnold (Dora) Carter, American Fork; Mrs. Lloyd (Kate) Halladay, Salt Lake City; Mrs. T. C. (Wonetha) Millard and Mrs. Russell (Irene) Newbold, both of Tooele;
