In the beauty of God's love, and the promise of heaven, Sister Kate went peacefully home on June 20, 2008. She resided at 756 South 200 East in Downtown Salt Lake City, Utah at the time of her death. A faithful member of Faith Temple Pentecostal Church, Kate knew God's word, and was loved by all who knew her.





Cleo Katherine "Kate" Barney-Halladay was born Sept. 12, 1920 to Charles Barney and Josephine Carlson Barney in Provo, UT. Kate married Loyd James Halladay on July 13, 1946. Kate moved to Salt Lake City in 1964.




Preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, five brothers and three sisters. Kate is survived by her three loving sisters Juan, Irene and Ellie, three loving sons; Loyd James "Jimmy" Halladay Jr., David Floyd Halladay, and Paul Deloy Halladay (Patty), two adopted daughters Pam and Katrina, four grandchildren: Amie, Rodney (Jennifer), DJ and Brittney, eight step-grandchildren: Stephanie (Patrick), Bryan (Wendy), Kristina, Joey, Shauna, Jacob, Joshua and Danny and seven great-grand-children.




Homegoing Services will be held at Faith Temple Pentecostal Church, 1510 South Richards Street on Sat., June 28, 2008. Viewing at 10 a.m., Services at 11 a.m.
Interment at the Salt Lake City Cemetery 4th Avenue and "N" Street.
