Donald R. 'Bob' Brown
Avid golfer enjoyed hunting, woodworking
Donald R. "Bob" Brown, 69, of Whitehall Road, Bloomsburg, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at his home.
Born April 25, 1942, in Bloomsburg, he was the son of the late Algernon H. and Pearl F. (Hess) Brown. He married the former Loretta M. Jordan on July 1, 1961, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage.
He retired from National Gypsum in New Columbia in 2004 where he had worked 32 years.
He was a member of the Washingtonville Fire Company, enjoyed hunting and fishing and woodworking. He was an avid golfer and achieved a "hole-in-one" in 2010 at the White Deer Golf Course.
Surviving, besides his wife, are a daughter, Marlene J. Rupert, at home; a grandson, Phillip Rupert; a great-granddaughter, Dylan Spring; and three sisters: Evelyn M. Carr and Gloria G. Johnston, both of Danville; and Betty J. High of Lewisburg.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were two brothers, Algernon H. Jr. and Marlin Brown.
Friends are invited to call at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday where the funeral will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mark A.
