Born November 13, 1928 in Watsontown, she was the daughter of the late Algernon H. and Pearl F. (Hess) Brown.
On October 2, 1948 she married Charles R. Carr and they celebrated 43 years of marriage until his death August 17, 1992.
Evelyn owned and operated a beauty shop from her home for many years and was a school bus driver for the Danville School District. Earlier in her life she had worked at Roslyn Yarns in Danville.
She was a member of Benton Assembly of God Church, Stillwater.
Evelyn loved camping and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law: Charles A. and Donna Carr and Richard J. and Gail Carr; a daughter and son-in-law: Gail E. and Douglas Freese, all of Danville; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-grandson; and two sisters: Gloria Johnston, Washingtonville and Betty High, Millville.
Preceding her in death besides her husband, the Rev. Charles R. Carr, were three brothers: Algernon, Marlin, and Donald Brown.
Friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with her pastor, Mark Shellenberger officiating. Burial will follow in Turbotville Cemetery.
