Dies at 82
at Merkel
Knox City (RNS) Mrs. Annie Hughes 82, died at 2:45 p.m saturday at a Merkel Nursing Home where she had been a patient for the last year. The former Annie Lackey, she was born in 1881 in Jones County and married L. E. Hughes in July of 1898.
Funeral services will be held in the Knox City Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Tony Longval, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Helen Robbins of San Francisco, Calif.; two sons, L. L. Hughes of Wichita Falls and L. E. Hughes of Abilene; Her mother, Mrs. C. W. Pullig, 96, of Knox City; one grandson and two great-grandchildren.
