ANDREW W. KRAPF DIED SUNDAY
Andrew W. Krapf, 79, of 80 Hunter St. died at 12:15 P.M. yesterday, 25 Nov 1962, in Coaldale State Hospital where he was admitted Wednesday. He had been ill three years [with heart problems] and has 94 survivors.

Mr Krapf was born in Hazleton son of the late John and Louise Gimbi Krapf, and liven in town 68 years. He was retired and had been self employed.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served as Superintendent of the Sunday School of the church for 25 years. With his total Sunday School service amounting to 50 years. He recieved a 50-year medal from the Pennsylvania Sunday School Association for faithful service. [Claire his daughter says that he served as Sect. for the Church for 50 years.]

Mr. Krapf served as a borough councilman for 12 years and helped initiate the flood control program now being carried out of the Little Schuylkill watershed.

He organized the first Bible class in Tamaqua and was a charter member of the East End Fire Co.

He and his wife the former Catherine Scheidegger, would have observed their 60th wedding anniversary next February 7th. [1963]

Surviving in addition to his widow are seven sons and seven daughters: Nellie, wife of Martin J. Stramara, Pottsville; Louise, wife of Ronald Light, Reading; Calvin A., San Fernando, Calif.; Naomi, wife of Joseph Barron, Bristol; Elwood, Orwigsburg; Albert, Alhambra, Calif.; Catherine, wife of Frank Dudeck, Leesport; Mrs Fern Tonkin, Coaldale; Paul, Baltimore, Md.; Regina, wife of Jack Leibenguth, Miami, Fla.; Claire, wife of Robert Hollenbach, 127 Gay St., town; George, Baltimore, Md.; Airman First Class Robert with the U.S. Airforce in Orlando, Fla., and Donald, Baltimore, Md.

Also surviving are 40 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.
