Russell Edward Enterline, the fifth child of Thomas Edward Enterline and Estella ("Stella") Christina Strohecker Enterline, was born in Lavelle, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania on 15 February 1900.

His father, Thomas Edward Enterline (often referred to as T.E. Enterline in the media of the times), founded and operated the family's general merchandise store until his untimely death in 1928. Stella Enterline assumed responsibility for the store's operation with her other son (Russell's older brother), Bright Samuel ("Pat") Enterline. Russell also helped to operate the store with Pat until Pat's death in 1964.

Russell grew up in Lavelle, and was educated at Ashland High School in Ashland, Pennsylvania. He was employed by James Rowe as a painter in 1930.

Russell passed away in May 1982, and is buried with his wife, Helen I. Enterline on the left side of Citizens Cemetery in Lavelle (Section 1, Row 6). His sister, Anna, and her husband, Charles E. Welker are buried nearby in Row 4. Their sister, Marie Enterline Welker, is buried in Row 3 with her husband, John E. Welker.

The brothers of Anna, Russell, and Marie - George S. and Bright Samuel ("Pat") Enterline - were buried in the same lot with their parents, Thomas and Stella Enterline, in Row 5. The graves of Thomas, Stella, George, and Bright are located just above the graves of Stella's sister, Minnie Rebecca Strohecker Snyder, and her husband, John Hartranft Snyder, who was one of the co-founders of the Lavelle Telephone and Telegraph Company. Their son, Timothy P. Snyder, is also buried with them.

Those seven graves (of the Enterlines and Snyders) are bordered by a low brick wall that separates them off from the other graves in this section of the cemetery.
