Lamar Hampton Enterline was the youngest child of Thomas Edward Enterline and Estella ("Stella") Christina Strohecker Enterline. He was born on 27 November 1905 in Lavelle, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.

Lamar's nickname was "Dink." His father, Thomas (often referred to as T.E. Enterline in the media of the times), founded and operated the general merchandise store in Lavelle until his untimely death in 1928.

His mother, Stella, then took over management of the store, operating it with Dink's older brother, Bright Samuel ("Pat") Enterline until her death. Pat then operated the family store until his passing in 1964.

Dink married Dorothy Weikel in October of 1927. According to his 1984 obituary, they had been married 56 years at the time of his death.

Dink was a long-time member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He worked as a painter and paper hanger until his retirement in 1976.

He and Dorothy were residing on Dorney Park Road at the time of his death. He passed away at the Allentown Osteopathic Hospital on 4 February 1984.

Dink is buried with Dorothy at Arlington Memorial Park in Allentown. Services were held at the Stephens Funeral Home, 1335-37 Linden Street, Allentown.
