SHORT BIOGRAPHY OF THOMAS EDWARD ENTERLINE
Thomas Edward Enterline was a respected member of his community and the founder of the general merchandise store in Lavelle, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
T.E. Enterline, as he is shown in media accounts, was the son of Pennsylvania native, George Enterline, and the husband of Estella C. ("Stella") Strohecker. Stella's sister, Minnie Rebecca Strohecker, married John Hartranft Snyder, one of the co-founders of the Lavelle Telephone and Telegraph Company.
Upon the untimely death of T.E. Enterline from a cerebral hemorrhage on 31 October 1928, his wife and son, Bright ("Pat") Enterline took over operation of the general store. Bright operated that store until his own death in 1964.
Thomas Enterline is buried in Citizens Cemetery in Lavelle with his wife, and two of their sons: George S. Enterline who died in infancy in 1895, and Bright Samuel ("Pat") Enterline. Their graves are located above those of Stella's sister, Minnie, and her husband, John H. Snyder, and their youngest son, Timothy P. Snyder. All seven graves are bordered by a low brick wall, which sets off the grave grouping from the other graves in this section of the cemetery.
