Daniel M. Engel, 82, Kansas City, KS, passed away Friday, November 21, 1997, at his home. Mr. Engel was born June 15, 1915, in Ellis, KS.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 24, at Mount Calvary Mausoleum, Kansas City, KS; burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Sunday, November 23, at Butler Funeral Home, 22 S. 18th St., Kansas City, KS, where a rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be ma de to St. Cyril's Catholic Church, 44 N. Mill, Kansas City, KS 66101.

He worked in the San Francisco shipyards until the end of WWII. He worked for nine years at the General Motors Fairfax Plant, and spent the remaining time working for his brother at Matt Engel Big Men's Store, Kansas City, MO.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Engel, of the home; two sons, Daniel L. Engel, Overland Park, KS, and Robert W. Engel, Kansas City, KS; three brothers, Alois Engel, Ellis, KS, Matt Engel, Kansas City, KS, and Ralph Engel, Captain Cook, HI; one sister, Freda Drogemeier, Tucson, AZ; and two grandchildren.
