Alvina Waldschmidt, 76, died Friday, Aug. 8 at St. Anthony Hospital. She was born Oct. 5, 1903 at Munjor, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Unren) Engel.

She married Paul J. Waldschmidt May 31, 1921.

They lived in Ellis until they retired and moved to Hays in 1972. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include four sons, George, Ellis, Melvin, Wichita, and Henry and Mauuel, both of Los Angeles; three daughters, Lillian Miceli, San Bernardino, Calif., LaVida Sinek, Fullerton, Calif, and Adelaid Marvin, Hays; four brothers, Al, Ellis, Ralph, Portland, Ore., and Daniel and Matt, both of Kansas City; one sister, Fredia Droegmeier, Tuscon, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church; St. Mary Catholic Church Cemetery, Ellis. A parish wake will be at 8 p.m. Sunday at Wilson Mortuary. Friends may call at Wilson's from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
