The Oklahoman, Tuesday, Feb 14, 1950:
Robert L. Robards, 85, of 1215 N. Hudson, died Monday in St Vincent's Home of the Brothers of Mercy. Uncle Bob Robards was born in Mercer Co, Kentucky and moved to Illinois with his parents in 1870. He married Elizabeth O'Donnell at Olney, IL, in 1890; he was in the contracting business.

He came to Sapulpa shortly before the oil boom. In 1906 he moved to Oklahoma City. Robards enlisted in the Knights of Columbus secretary's welfare work and went overseas with the AEF in 1918. After the war, he was welfare supervisor of six veteran's hospitals. Mrs Robards died Dec 8, 1948.

Rosary will be 8 pm Tuesday in Smith & Kernke Funeral Chapel. Requiem Mass will be at 9 am Wednesday in St Joseph's Cathedral. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
