Lucinda Ribble had a twin sister, Melinda May Ribble they were 15th and 16th child for their father and 7th and 8th child for their mother. Their mother, Mary Elizabeth Holly Ribble, died the day after the twins were born. Their father's first wife Mary Frances Baker Ribble also had 8 children and the 7th and 8th ones were twins. She died 28 days after the twins were born. The father, Edd Ribble, had so many children he couldn't take care of all of them and work. Melinda May Ribble was raised by Ivan and Mary Jones, friends of the Ribbles. In 1906, the Joneses moved to California and took Melinda with them. She was a teen ager when they moved around. It is not known if the girls knew each other or knew they were twins. Nothing in Melinda's wedding announcements or obituary mentions Lucinda. Dixie Read, a descendant of Edd Ribble, searched for years until she found Melinda. For many years, it was thought that she had died. Melinda died in June 1857 and Lucinda died in Mar 1958 both 69 years old.
