Samuel Alexander Lockridge “Lock” Ribble homesteaded a place on the Brazos River Indian Reservation south of where the town of Bunger now stands in 1875. Mr. Ribble explained he was required to live on the land three years to obtain a patent from the state of Texas. Mrs. Ribble said she never did like the place, so the couple moved to a better place in 1925.
