He married Hazel Ann Van Hemert at Nashua, Chickasaw & Floyd Cos, Iowa, 14 June 1938. They lived on his parents farm all their married life. He was the owner and operator of Wanders Radio and TV in Pella for many years and continued in the electronics business for 50 years. He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church, Pella and died in Pella.
