Bertha came to America with her parents at a young age and settled in the Pella area.
Married to Albert Wanders 2-2-1900. Together they farmed for a number of years near Tracy before moving to a farm southeast of Pella. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Pella and a member of the Black Oak Cemetery Aid.

Mrs. Albert Wanders, Sr.
1877-1965

Bertha Van Donselaar, daughter of Albert and Gysbertje Jansen Van Donselaar was born March 31, 1877 at Ede, province of Gelderland, the Netherlands. At an early age she came to America with her parent who settled in the vicinity of Pella. On February 2. 1900 she was united in marriage with Albert Wanders Sr. Together they farmed for a number of years near Tracy before moving to a farm southeast of Pella where Albert died November 26, 1943.

Mrs. Wanders was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Pella and a member of the Black Oak Cemetery Aid.

She departed this life late on the evening of March 5, 1965 at the Pella Community Nursing Home, where she has been cared for the past 10 months. She reached the age of 87 years, 11 months and 6 days. Surviving are her five children: Mrs. Grace (Gerrtt J.) Vande Kieft, Marie. Mrs. Elmer Nollen; Albert and Lewis Wanders, all of Pella and Katherine, Mrs. M. S. Standage of San Jacinto, Calif. She also leaves 9 grandchildren, 7 greatgrandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, a brother, Elbert, and sister, Mary, Mrs. Nick Meinders, both of Pella. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Peter A , Willem and John Van Donselaar.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wanders were conducted on Tuesday. March 9, 1965 from the Chapel of Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home. Rev John H. Piersma, Minister of the First Christian Reformed Church in Pella, officiated with interment in the Black Oak Twp. cemetery.
