Orange City - Mrs. Garrett Wichers, 74, of Orange City, died Jan. 10 at a hospital here of brief illness.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Jan 13 in Trinity Reformed Church with the Rev. Donald R. Lenderink officiating. Burial in Sherman Township Cemetery at Maurice was under the direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wichers, the former Margaret Popma, was born Aug. 5, 1902 at Ireton. She was married Dec. 12, 1923 at Maurice. She had lived in Sioux County all her life and moved to Orange City from a farm near Maurice seven years ago. Her husband died in 1960. She was a member of Trinity Reformed Church

Survivors include seven sons, Marlin, Bob and Russell all of Orange City, Allen of Maurice, Donald of Glenwood, Minn., Leon of Rock Valley and Myron of Billings, Mont.; five daughters, Mrs. Ken (Lola) Heys of Grand Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Jake (Joyce) Siemonsma of Alton, Mrs. Frank (Betty) Pott of Puerto Rico, Mrs. Carl (Irene) Zeublis of Dunnellon, Fla., and Mrs. Don (Alma) Engeltjes of Orange City; one sister, Mrs. Gerrit (Florence) Kots of Maurice; 46 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
