Robert Wichers, age 78, of Orange City, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021, at the Sanford USD Medical Center and Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Robert Lee was born on July 23, 1943, on a farm near Maurice, the son of Garrett and Margaret (Popma) Wichers. He was raised in the Maurice area, where he attended school through the eighth grade, and then helped on the family farm.

He was united in marriage to Wanda Joyce Herweyer on June 5, 1964, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City. They made their home on a farm near Orange City, where they raised their four daughters. Wanda passed away on January 16, 2020, after more than 55 years of marriage.

Bob was a member of the First Reformed Church in Maurice and worked at Alton Premium Feeds and Mix-Rite in Sioux Center, delivering feed all across the area. He was a "Jack of all trades" and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was known for his delicious tomatoes, which he graciously shared with anyone he could. His family and faith were extremely important to him, and many people knew him from his attendance at his grandchildren's activities.

Survivors include his four daughters, Kim Krull, and her fiancé, Kirk Te Grootenhuis, of Alton; Lisa Major, of Marysville, Washington; Robyn, and her husband, Chris Parks, of Marble, Minnesota; and Jody, and her husband, Jason Albers, of Alton; ten grandchildren, Savanah Hall, and her friend, John Wilt, Jesse, and her husband, Brandon Mars, Tanner Krull, Mallory, and her husband, Anthony Bacon, Mackenzie Albrecht, Jordyn Albrecht, and her fiancé, Cody McGavran, Isabella Parks, Maria Albers, Greg Albers, and Ellie Albers; eleven great-grandchildren; four siblings; and many nieces and nephews.
