AT REST.
After a long, weary and heroic struggle, carried on for several years, Mr. Richard W. Kline was at last forced to yield to his assiduous enemy and give up this life on last Wednesday morning.
It was a gallant fight that Dick made with the grim destroyer, and his fortitude, it would seem, deserved a happier ending than that which was his portion. Several years his invidious [sic] foe (consumption) made a determined assault upon him, but was successfully repulsed for a long time and he only gave way to its continuous attacks when his physical strength refused to answer to the demands of his still undaunted will.
His remains were laid away in the city cemetery yesterday afternoon, in the presence of a large number of friends who knew him in his fresh and vigorous youth and man[h]ood, and who turned from the grave with sighs of deep regret for the loss of their old companion.
May the all-kind Heavenly Father deal gently and lovingly with the grief-stricken wife and child, and sooth to rest and tranquility their troubled hearts.
*SPAR burial records indicate R. W. Kline was 31 years of age at the time of his death.
