Edith V. Faison (nee Edmonds), 86, of Cape May passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2011 after an extended illness.

Edith was born on April 13, 1925 in West Cape May to the late John C. and Lola Edmonds. She was a lifelong resident of the Cape May area and graduated from Franklin Street Elementary School and Cape May High School.

Edith was a devoted, active and lifelong member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Cape May where she was a deaconess and member of the choir. She was formerly employed as a nutritionist for Rutgers University for many years before retiring. Edith was a longtime member and leader of the 4-H Fair, dedicating many hours for the well-being of others. She enjoyed many of life's gifts but most of all being with her children, grandchildren and family.

Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her two sisters, Mary Burrell and Carolyn Edmonds Watson and her brother, John C. Edmonds, Jr.

Edith will be sadly missed by her loving family which includes her husband of 57 years, Carl L. Faison; devoted daughter, Carol Faison; three sons, Thomas (and Cynthia) Faison, Richard Faison and Victor (and Theresa) Faison; one sister, Anna (and Al) Hull; one brother, Victor (and Margie) Edmonds; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (Oct. 22nd) at 11am in the Macedonia Baptist Church, corner of Lafayette and Franklin Sts., Cape May where there will be a viewing from 9am to 11am. Interment will follow services in the Cape May County Veterans Cem.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Macedonia Baptist Church (Building Fund), PO Box 2385, Cape May, NJ 08204
