Before sending an edit to update a memorial keep in mind this is “Find A Grave” a Grave Registration website, a tool for ancestry research Not Ancestry. Please respect those of us who try to make this information available.
I am not interested in making this a complete genealogical information website, just a place to post gravesites with the information that should accompany that.
I will only list a memorial by what is on the marker. Any other Documented information will be put in the bio area.
The reason, to prevent duplication.
Since a Find A Grave option allows contributors to make Massive Upload Dumps of photos and encourages those photos to be transcribed by other contributors who know nothing about the area they are from or the people.
The result, Massive Duplications of existing memorials and contributors who don’t care and won’t address the mess that they are responsible for.
Also a reminder from FAG concerning Transfer Requests
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested IF you have Extensive Changes To Make To A Memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request.
Second, Transfer requests should be for Direct Relatives Within Four Generations. This would be YOUR siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. "
Please State YOUR Relationship When Requesting A Transfer.
I’m sure some of you have your reasons for not wanting to be contacted such as “too much negativity” . But surprisingly enough issues do arise over edits and it becomes necessary to ask questions. If you offer no way to be contacted please do not send me edits.

"Find A Grave" in the Subject field or it will be deleted.
The following are my feelings exactly. A fellow Graver worded it perfectly so I have "borrowed" their words.

Find A Grave does not require that I search the entire Find A Gave system globally, only the individual cemeteries in which I am adding to. I do not do bulk uploads. Each memorial is created one at a time. If you create a memorial & it is listed as Burial Unknown or is listed in the wrong cemetery, then I am not going to find it before I create a memorial in the correct cemetery. Please do not move your Unknown Burial into the correct cemetery based on the information you found from my memorial & then demand that I delete my duplicate. I thoroughly check each & every cemetery prior to creation and I will know if any have been placed there after mine. As per Find A Grave, memorials listed in the correct cemetery (regardless of the memorial being created later) will always have preference over Unknown Burials. Memorials listed in the incorrect cemetery also fall under the category of an Unknown Burial because the burial place was obviously unknown if the person is listed in the wrong cemetery.
