Jan 03, 1996. During the 1930 census Mary was living with her parents on Horton Street in Taunton, Bristol County, MA and working as a spooler in a cotton mill.

Mary (Correia) Linhares, wife of the late Jesse M. Linhares, died at her Taunton home on May 21, 2011. She was 99 years old. Born in Taunton, Mrs. Linhares was the daughter of the late Joaquim and Alexandrina (Bartel) Correia. Raised and educated in Taunton, she received a diploma from Coyle & Cassidy High School. She was a lifelong resident of the area. A homemaker for most of her adult life, Mrs. Linhares was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony Church, and member of the parish's Holy Rosary Sodality. Survivors include five sons, Edward Linhares of Pocasset, Joseph Linhares of Mashpee, Rev. William P. Linhares, T.O.R. of WV, Thomas J. Linhares of New York, NY, and Stephen J. Linhares of Taunton; four daughters, Mary Hartung, Jeanne M. Linhares, Eleanor Mc-Greevy and Elizabeth Newman, all of Taunton; a brother, Bento Correia of Centerville; two sisters, Delphina Granfield and Eleanor Abreau, both of Taunton; twenty five grandchildren; thirty-eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Richard, Robert and Jesse Linhares, and the sister of the late Joaquim, Ida and Joseph Correia, Eva Barker and Alice Carvalho. Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway Taunton on Wednesday, May 25th at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Franciscan Friars, T.O.R., St. Bernardine Monastery.
