SAMUEL CLINGMAN
Died on Sunday, October 20, 1889, at his residence in Oakdale, of valvular disease of the heart, Samuel Clingman, publisher of The Sentinel, after an illness of about five months.
Samuel Clingman was born in West Buffalo, Pennsylvania, on February 21, 1822.
He was married there to Miss Susannah Siler, on April 7, 1844. He came to Oakdale in 1881. He was converted in early manhood at the age of 20 years. He then joined the Evangelical Church and ever remained an active, faithful member.
The funeral services were held on October 22 at the Evangelical Church of Oakdale, Rev. C. Stock preaching from Rev. 14:13, and Rev. T. Thompson and Rev. D. C. Winship assisting. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery.
