Quinten Arthur Champ, 85, of Old Fields, died Sept. 2, 2004 at his residence.
Born Oct. 15, 1918, in Pendleton County, he was the son of the late Andrew J. and Ethel (Alt) Champ. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Florence (Layton) Champ, March 1968; four brothers; four sisters; and one grandson.
He is survived by seven sons, Roger Champ of Moorefield, and Charles Champ Sr., with whom Mr. Champ resided, Carl Champ, Gary Champ, Jim Champ, John Champ and Andrew Champ, all of Purgitsville; one daughter, Judy Pratt of Moorefield; four brothers, Earl Champ of Cabins, Harlan Champ of Baltimore, Darryl Champ of Petersburg and Dayton Champ of Lahmansville; three sisters, Thelma Rohrbaugh and Virginia Vance, both of Petersburg, and Ruby Dolly of Medley; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted September 5, at the Fraley Funeral Home chapel, Moorefield, with interment in Lahmansville Cemetery.
