Mrs. Ethel Champ, 82, of Medley, died Sunday in Grant Memorial Hospital.

Born August 4, 1898 in Pendleton County, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Alt. Her husband, Andrew Champ, died in 1972.

She was a member of the North Fork Mennonite Church.

Surviving are seven sons, Earl Champ, Cabins; Quinton Champ, Purgitsville; John Champ, Seneca Rocks; Harlan Champ and Bryson Champ, both of Baltimore, Md.; Darrell Champ, Keyser; Dayton Champ, Lahmansville; six daughters, Mrs. Verdie Hedrick, Onego; Mrs. Dora Cooper and Mrs. Evelyn Boggs, both of Seneca Rocks; Mrs. Thelma Butcher, Petersburg; Mrs. Virginia Vance, Keyser; Mrs. Ruby Dolly, Medley; five half-sisters, Minnie Alt, Moorefield; Goldie Borror, Upper Tract; Violet Yankey, Petersburg; Tina Thompson, Franklin; Verdie Alt, Harrisonburg, Va.; a half-brother, Dayton Alt,, Harrisonburg, Va.; 55 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were 2 sons, 1 daughter, 1 brother, 1 sister, and 1 half brother.

Services were conducted Tuesday afternoon in North Fork Mennonite Church with the Rev. Larry Showalter officiating. Internment was in Lahmansville Cemetery.

The family requests memorials take the form of donations to the Southeastern Mennonite Mission Committee in care of John Weaver, Petersburg.

Arrangements were in charge of the Arnold Funeral Home.
