James Tillman McDonald was a man of many talents - farm laborer, carpenter, and preacher. He served his family and communities well. Born in Indian Territory, Oklahoma in 1880 he lived with his family until his marriage in 1905 in Wister, Oklahoma. Raised a family of 5 children in LeFlore County, Oklahoma, lived and preached in many areas of Oklahoma before heading to California in 1941. He was a well-known revival & circuit preacher as well as a skilled carpenter and leathersmith. He moved to Camarillo about 1950 and lived in the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Retha & John Frisbie until his death in 1957.
