Milo W. Cooley, a well known citizen of Lauramie township, died in the National Soldiers' home at Danville, Illinois, on Friday night at 9:10 o'clock from a complication of diseases. Roy Milligan went to Danville Saturday and brought the remains to Clark's Hill, which was long the home of the deceased. Mr. Cooley was a veteran of the civil war and had a long and honorable service. He was 77 years old and was engaged in business at Clark's Hill for a number of years. He was a giant in physique, but was injured some years ago when a stairway collapsed at a political meeting in Clark's Hill and never recovered from the effects of the injuries. He was a man of genial disposition and was well and favorably known. He leaves a widow and the following children: Mrs. Ica Ward, of Frankfort; Miss Maud Cooley, of New York City; Miss Mabel Cooley, of Swanington; Raymond and Miss Gladys Cooley, of Clark' Hill. The funeral will be conducted from the residence in Clark's Hill this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Mr. Pellet will officiate and the interment will be made in the Union cemetery.
