On Tuesday, October 30, 1990 of Beltsville, MD, wife of the late William M. Marcus; mother of Thelma Primm, Brim, Clemmer, and Jesie Marcus, Rachel Rogers, Frances Hunter, Opal Phelps, and the late Pernie Woodend, Glover and Grover Marcus. Also survivied by 28 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at the Borgwardt Funeral Home, 4400 Powder Mll Rd., Beltsville, MD, Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery on Friday at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 11416 Cedar Ln., Beltsville, MD 20705

From the Loudoun Discovered, Communities, Corners & Crossroads by Eugene M. Scheel, Volume Four on page 74:

This is a quote from the book;
"On August 15, 1918 William K. Marcus and wife Luttie V. Marcus donated land "to be used for educational, religious and public purposes only", to trustees..."

Note: The context of this quote is the building of the school on Sunny Ridge, Loudoun County, Va on the property that was owned by Dr. Joseph Russell Smith. The school opened the fall of 1918. We do know that Luttie was marred to William M. Marcus, but her father was William K. Marcus. I noticed that Lutie's cousin, Hyenthae Marcus Lanham (my Aunt Tootsie) was one of the many contributors for recollections for this book.
