Nancy White Patrick Brooks is one of 13 children born to Alexander Jefferson and Catherine White Patrick. She moved to Texas with her family about 1840. She married Belvidere Brooks in 1851 who entered the Civil War as a Captain and died in the Battle of Shiloh in 1862. Son Joseph Wilkes was born in 1855 and son Belvidere was born in 1859.
