Mary was the daughter of Alexander and Catherine Patrick.
She was the namesake of Mary(Patrick)Homan, one of Alexander Patricks younger sisters.

Mary, her parents and twelve siblings all traveled to Texas from Kentucky in April of 1841. They established a new homestead in the town of Cairo, Texas on the west bank of the Trinity River. The family arrived by steamship.

Mary married George Fletcher Chatham in 1853, and they had four children, John, James, Robert, and William. Mary ended up raising the children in her fathers home, after George Chatham was killed during the Civil War. According to her headstone shortly before her death, she married a William P Hastings.
