Hester's grave stone has long disappeared into the forest floor, if a stone exit it is in very deep forest debris. However, many other Grave markers are still readable and visible. The sunken burial pits, are still obvious, some have broken stones about, others just a depression in the ground, where they were laid to rest.
Hester was the daughter of Elias & Anna [Gibbs] White, both born and raised in Union County South Carolina.
Hester was the 2nd wife of Jeremiah (Jerry) Bobo. They were first cousins, Jerry's parents were Solomon Jr & Elizabeth [White] Bobo, Hester's aunt, all of Union County South Carolina. Jeremiah's burial site has not been located, he died in Bell County Texas, between 1860 and 1870.
They married in Bowie Co TX, 20 Apr 1847, after her family, arrived in Texas in 1846. Jerry first married to Sarah White, 28 Oct 1841, who died in SC, about 1845, just before the departure to Texas, they had two children, Laura and James.
Sarah was the sister of Hester, as the 1830 census of Union Co SC, reveal there were 2 additional female children and 1 other male.
