OBITUARY :
MR. GERALD M. PROVARD, 86, of 8303 Tomstown Rd., Waynesboro, PA, died at 1:54 A.M., Thursday, September 22, 2011 in Waynesboro Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past year.

Born April 3, 1925 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Cleveland and Clara (Wagaman) Provard.

Mr. Provard attended Waynesboro schools and later served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater.

He and his wife, Miriam G. (Gates) Provard were married on September 27, 1946 in Hagerstown, MD. They lived at their present residence since 1957.

Mr. Provard was employed as an inspector by Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro, for 9 years before serving as a supervisor for Mack Truck, Hagerstown, where he worked for 22 years before retiring in 1982.

He attended services at Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church, Five Forks, PA and enjoyed woodworking, hunting and playing golf.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter: Bonita S. Fuller, Hedgesville, WV; two sons: Barry G. Provard, Gerrardstown, WV, Jeffrey L. Provard, Greencastle, PA; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; two brothers: Donald Provard, Lloyd Provard; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters: Rosalie Beeler, Dorothy Verdier, Sylvia Bumbaugh; and two brothers: Ray Provard and Robert Provard.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 A.M., Monday, September 26, 2011 in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, 3218 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, with Pastor Brian Black, officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Five Forks B.I.C. Church Building Fund, 9244 Five Forks Rd., Waynesboro, PA 17268.
