John Cornett, 68, of Tiffin, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at his residence.

John was born June 4, 1943, in Lecher County, Ky., to Monroe and Ocie (Halcomb) Cornett.

Survivors include his son, Charles Cornett of Tiffin; three daughters, Veronica Cornett of Bloomville, Billy Bridinger of Tiffin and Kylee Sexton of Columbus; two grandchildren, Abby Ritchie and John Michael Cornett; four brothers, E.L. Cornett and Ronnie Cornett, both of Tiffin and Jack Cornett and Ernie Cornett, both of Whitesburg, Ky.; and six sisters, Norabell Cardwell, Norma Young, Kathy Company and Marylou Miller, all of Tiffin, Judy Cornett of Lily, Ky., and Linda Reed of Whitesburg, Ky.

John worked as a logger for many years. He was a member of Tiffin Eagles, loved to fish, play cards and spend time with his grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Amanda Martin; and two brothers, Dempsey and Cecil Cornett.

His funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery
