E.L. was born on October 21, 1939 in Whitesburg, KY, to the late Monroe and Ocie (Halcomb) Cornett. He married Janet (Martin) in Whitesburg, KY on December 5, 1958.
E.L. is survived by his wife, Janet of Tiffin, four daughters, Teresa (James R.) Peer of Republic, Tammy (Michael) Matthews of Tiffin, Trixie (John) Egbert of Green Springs, Toni (Joseph) Siebenaller of Tiffin, ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren with one more on the way, one great-great-grandchild, two brothers, Ernie Cornett of Roxanna, KY, Jack Cornett of Whitesburg, KY, five sisters, Genora Cardwell of Tiffin, Norma Young of Tiffin, Mary Lou Miller of Tiffin, Judy Breeding of Lily, KY and Linda Reed of Whitesburg, KY.
E.L. was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, four brothers, Dempsey, Cecil, Johnny and Ronnie Cornett and a sister, Kathy Company.
E.L. retired from Ford Motor Company. He enjoyed fishing, his garden and just spending time with his family.
Funeral services for E.L. will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin with the Rev. Paul Tyree officiating. Visitation for family and friends will also be on Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services on Wednesday, at Pleasant Ridge cemetery.
