Clif Caffey died Thursday, April 18, 2002 at his Midland residence. Funeral services were held Monday, April 22, 2002 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church with Reverend Richard Evans officiating. Internment followed at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements were under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
He was born April 26, 1923 in Brownwood, Texas to Arch and Virginia Caffey. He was raised in Colorado City. Clif attended and graduated from TCU and was captain of the TCU football team. He served his country in the Army AirCorp during WWII (European Theater) in a B17. In 1947 he married Barbara Bundock of Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to his retirement, Clif worked for Chevron Oil Company, Hilliard Oil and also operated as an independent. He was a member of the Geological Society for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Joan Caffey, a son, Kyle Caffey, a sister, Martha Caffey and two brothers, William Caffey and Bobby Caffey.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara J Caffey of Midland; a daughter, Jan Worthington and husband Kevin and their children, Audrey and Ashley of Dallas; granddaughter, Emily Caffey Gossett and great-grandson Jake; a brother, Jack Caffey of Arlington; sisters, Archie Roberts of Fort Worth, Virginia Hanley of Costa Mesa, California, and numerous nieces and nephews.
