Steven Zahn, 75, 820 W. Sweet Ave., died Jan. 1, 2001, in his home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck, with the Rev. Thomas Kramer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.

Steven was born Oct. 18, 1925, at Hague, to Joseph and Magdalena (Schmidt) Zahn. He was raised and educated in Hague. He served in the Armed Services during World War II. He married Clara Buechler, Feb. 6, 1950, in Hague. After their marriage, they moved to Bismarck where he worked as a forklift operator at the Super Valu warehouse for 33 years.

He liked gardening, woodworking, walking, reading and visiting, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Clara; eight daughters and seven sons-in-law, Cynthia and Curtis Sprenger, Bismarck, Clarice and John Davis, Aurora, Colo., Charlene and Ronald Busch, Lakewood, Colo., Charmaine and Steven Roethler, Maple Grove, Minn., Colette and Paul Sukut, and Cheryl and Randy Remmick, all of Bismarck, Carla and Richard Gartner, Fargo, and Connie Zahn, Bismarck; four sisters, Frances Langevin, Hopkins, Minn., Clara Zahn, St. Louis Park, Minn., Otillia Silbernagel, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and Barbara Welder, Mobridge, S.D.; one brother, Valentine "Wally" Zahn, Alexandria, Minn.; nine grandchildren, Calvin Sprenger, Amy (Scott) Senger, Rebecca Roethler, Valerie Gartner, Stephanie Gartner, Joseph Gartner, Stuart Gartner, Elizabeth Sukut and Rachel Remmick; and two great-grandchildren, Shelbie Sprenger and Calista Sprenger.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Linda; and six sisters and four brothers, Theresia, Elizabeth, Marie, Matt, Andrew, Johnnie, Ann, Catherine, Martin and Rose.
