James Jay died at his home near Piney Creek Thursday evening. November 7, of paralysis, aged 64 years, four months and six days. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Hester Smith, two sons, and five daughters W. M. Jay of Defiance, O.; Hiriam Jay at home, Mrs. W. C. Ritchey of Charleroi, Mrs. John Conner of near Clearville, Mrs. Edward Wingenrath of Erie, Mrs. Watson Akers of Robinsonville and Miss Louise Jay, at home. The funeral services were conducted in Pine Grove Christian Church Sunday morning, November 10, By Rev. W. C. Garland, S. W. S. Foor, John Bennett, and John Barney. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
