Edward P. Ervin was a son of Mr. & Mrs. S.J. Ervin Sr. He had served as county Clerk of Court but had been ill with asthma for several months. He contracted pneumonia and died.
Ervin was never married. He was survived by his parents and four sisters: Mrs. J.K. Hall, Miss Catherine Ervin, Miss Eunice Ervin, and Miss Jean Ervin; and four brothers: S.J. Ervin Jr., Hugh Tate Ervin, John Ervin, and Joe Ervin. Another sister, Margaret, died several years ago.
