It also said that he had a scar across the left side of his throat, and no left thumb. He was a postmaster of the Crisfield post office, and served in the U. S. Postal Service for 37 years. He was a WW II Army veteran. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, and also a member and past president of the Crisfield Rotary Club.
